These drop cables are used to transmit broadband video or
TV signals to the customer premises. The RG 6 coax cable consist of an 18 AWG
copper clad steel conductor and the RG 11 coax cable consist of an 14 AWG copper
clad steel conductor that are coated with a specially formulated anti-corrosion
material applied to prevent moisture migration and corrosion. A foamed polyethylene
insulation material is applied around the center conductor in such a way that
the insulating material forms a skin around the conductor and bonds to the
conductor. The insulating material is encased by two levels (60% and 40%) 34
AWG aluminum braid coverage and two foil shields. Flooding compound is applied
to protect against moisture ingress. For buried applications,
a black, rugged polyethylene (PE) jacket completes the cable.
